Veterans in the steel industry, our team provides convenience, knowledge, and quality to our diverse array of customers ranging from weekend warriors to large-scale developers.
In early 2018 we opened our 21,000 square-foot office, warehouse, and storefront to ensure all our customers' needs are met in one convenient and friendly location.
We are looking for a confident, excited Estimator who is experienced in purchasing, estimating, and quoting; and is confident in their ability to read drawings, negotiate, and use PRM systems.
As a purchasing estimator at Steel Works, you will play a crucial role in our procurement and cost estimation process.
A successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of the procurement process.
Requirements:
Analyze project specifications and requirements to determine materials and services needed.
Source and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors.
Obtain and review price quotes, proposals, and bids from vendors.
Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and pricing data.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements.
Monitor market trends and industry changes to make informed procurement decisions.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to reduce procurement expenses.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulations No degree required for this position.
Qualifications:
1 year of experience in purchasing, procurement, or cost estimation in the steel or fabrication industries.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement software.
Knowledge of industry-specific materials and suppliers.
Attention to detail and analytical mindset.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills.
